Albert "Al" Unverzagt, a long-time resident of West Hurley N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2021 at Westchester Medical Center with his family by his side; he was 60 years old. Al was born in Ellenville, NY to the late Albert and Rose (Tiano) Unverzagt. Mr. Unverzagt was a jack of many trades during his life and since 2007, he had been employed at Simulaids located in Saugerties, NY. Al attended Ellenville High School and enjoyed reminiscing about growing up in the quaint village. He enjoyed sharing local facts and history about the area and took pride in his family's barber shop that was well-known to many in the Ellenville area. Albert was known to enjoy the simple things in life such as spending quiet time at home, visiting with friends, and the company his of four-legged friends Chico, Chanel and Lucifer. He was also known to appreciate a good bourbon, a cold beer and a Yankee's game or a classic Western. Above all, Albert was a loving husband, step-father and true friend to many who was loved for his easy going attitude, for being genuine, and having a kind soul. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the chance know him. Albert is survived by his wife MaryAnn also of West Hurley, his step-daughter Autumn Stanley of Endicott, NY, his cousin Josephine Marl of Cragsmoor, NY and many nieces and nephews. Al was predeceased by his brother John, and sister Maryann. In lieu of a formal funeral service, Al's life will be celebrated with friends and family which will be announced at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kigston, NY.
