Obituary of Dennis E. Beaver
Dennis Beaver, affectionately known as” The Beav” 83 of Saugerties, New York, passed away on April 11th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
The Beav was a graduate of Kingston High School. After he graduated high school, he went on to work at IBM of Kingston. During his time at IBM, he took a brief intermission to serve in the United States Army for 2 years. He was discharged and returned to IBM, where he met his beautiful bride, Mary Ann. They married on October 10th, 1964, and created a beautiful family. The Beav worked at IBM for 34 years. He started his second career as a host at Red Lobster here in Kingston where he worked for 25 years. He was a member of the Saugerties Elks, White Eagle Benevolent Society, Kingston Bowling Association, Kingston Bowling Hall of Fame, Saugerties Bowling Association, Sawyer Kill Country Club, and the Rip Van Winkle Country Club,
He found his profound love for golfing when he was a caddy at Wiltwyck Golf Club at age 13. He was also an avid bowler in Saugerties and Kingston for 60 years. The Beav enjoyed bartending at the Elks on Tuesday nights. You could always find The Beav on the golf course, taking care of his yard and his garden, riding his bike, scratching tickets, and taking day trips to the casino with his wife. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Spending time with his family and friends was his favorite pastime.
The Beav is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann, his children, and their families: The Beavers of Kingston, NY, Tim, Andrea & Ashley; The Allen’s of Bristol, CT, Karen, Doug, Alexandra, Olivia & Victoria; The Beavers of Newport News, VA, Kevin, Liza, Leah & Landon; The Farrells of Saugerties, NY, Chrissey, Dave & Cody Stopczynski; His Siblings, Lenny ( Dorothy) Beaver, Bev (Bob) Markham; his brother-in-law, John Gorman; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Stan (Sharie) Beaver.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, April 24th, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-9:00 pm at Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung at 11:00 am on Friday, April 25th, 2025 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 467 Delaware Avenue, Kingston, New York.
