Obituary of Thomas J. Saulpaugh

It is with deepest sadness and a broken heart that I share the loss of my soulmate, Thomas J. Saulpaugh, who passed away on March 31, 2025. Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol Mackey Saulpaugh and his two cats, Benny and Lucy. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Jessie Saulpaugh and his sister, Deborah Embree. Surviving is his brother, Paul Saulpaugh; a niece, Megan Caprotti; a brother-in-law, Clayton Mackey; two sisters-in-law, Donna Mackey and Pat Vaselewski; and several nephews. Tom served his Country in the US Navy and retired from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. Tom and his wife owned “Woodstock Slates” and were vendors on the local craft circuit for 30 years. He was my hero, a proud, kind, friendly and loving man who valued his privacy as well as the privacy of others. His funeral service was held April 4, 2025 at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY.
