Jean Huldah Myer Steltz who was born in Flatbush, NY on April 29, 1930, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025, at home with her loving family by her side.
She was predeceased by her parents Arthur & Edith (Swart) Myer and her husband, Francis Steltz.
She graduated from Kinston High School, Magna Cum Laude in 1947. Jean worked for the First Dutch Church, Montgomery Wards and Metropolitan Life Insurance.
She was a long time member of Flatbush Reformed Church where she was a choir director and the organist for many years. Jean was also a 4-H leader for many years for the Flatbush Thumbelinas. She and Frank were members of Leftfooters and Do-Ce-Do Square Dance Clubs. She enjoyed playing piano, painting, writing poetry, dancing, singing, reading and sewing. She particularly loved animals and had many cats.
When they retired, she and Frank traveled the US in their Bluebird motor coach which they named The Rubicon. They were members of the FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association), SKP and the Vintage Bird Chapter. They enjoyed attending motor home rallies and making new friends. They owned a permanent site in Pine Resort in Zolfo Springs, FL where they spent the winter months each year.
She especially enjoyed celebrating Christmas with her children; Katheen and her husband Karl Livollen who live in Maine, David and Debbie Steltz who live in Tennessee and Timothy Steltz who lives in NY. She had three grandchildren – Heather and her husband Ryan Brogdon, Marissa Curry and Robert and his wife Jade Steltz. She had one great grandchild – Astrid Curry.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY.
