Scott Serrano Obituary

Scott Serrano, 62, of Kingston, NY, passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2025.

Born on November 29, 1962, in Kingston, he was the son of the late Silvan Serrano and Carol O’Hara Serrano, who survives him.

On September 28, 1985, Scott married Lena Primo and together, they recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary—a testament to their unwavering devotion. Above all, Scott was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was his world. Scott was endlessly proud of his daughters and took great joy in watching them build their own families, while being their constant source of quiet strength and support. Scott was happiest cheering on his four grandsons—Evryn, Brady, Casen, and Andersen (AJ)—as they grew, played, and discovered their passions. He rarely missed a game, a moment, or a chance to tell them how proud he was. Being “Poppy” was his greatest role.

Scott worked as a Mechanical Designer for Ametek Rotron for over 35 years. After retiring in 2022, he embraced the joy of spending more time with those he loved most. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and relaxing at the beach, whether it was with his family or his very dear friends. As a lifelong New York Yankees fan, Scott attended countless games over the years and always had the game on, whether it was on TV or on his iPhone. He took great pride in his perfectly manicured lawn and appreciated nothing more than an ice-cold beer. Scott was a dedicated volunteer to R.Y.A.N (Raising Your Awareness About Narcotics), an organization deeply meaningful to him and his family.

In addition to his wife, Lena, Scott is survived by his daughters, Danielle (Rich) Parrett and their sons Evryn, Brady, and Casen; and Jenna (Drew) Melendez and their son Andersen (AJ); his mother, Carol Serrano of Kingston; his brother, Shaun Serrano of Kingston; and his in-laws Thomas (Sharon) Primo, Joseph (Michele) Primo, Richard (Kimberly) Primo, and Jennifer (Stephen) Costello. His many nieces and nephews with whom he shared a special bond, Scott truly loved being an uncle. He also leaves behind many special friends who meant the world to him.

He was predeceased by his father, Silvan; his sister, Holly Serrano; and his in-laws, Emillio and Josephine Primo.

Despite being a quiet man, he knew how to fill a room.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Scott’s memory to the R.Y.A.N House via Venmo @Raising Your Awareness about Narcotics, or mailed to 19 Barclay St, Saugerties, NY 12477.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, November 13th, from 3–7 PM at Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, Kingston. A service will be held Friday, November 14th, at 11 AM at the funeral home, with interment immediately following.
