Mark David Belcher, 71, of Kingston, New York, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his beloved wife and three children, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, curiosity, faith, and devotion to family.
Born to Mary Lucille and Neal Joseph Belcher, Mark was the eldest of six siblings and carried that role with intelligence, independence, and quiet strength that shaped his family in lasting ways.
As a young boy, Mark was endlessly curious and adventurous. He had an extraordinary knowledge of plants and birds and could identify nearly everything he encountered in nature. His early love of the outdoors reflected a lifelong fascination with the natural world. He later attended Philadelphia Community College, where he pursued an interest in Marine Biology.
Mark proudly served in the United States Air Force as a medevac specialist, a role that spoke to his courage and steady compassion in times of crisis.
He was deeply devoted to the Blessed Mother, and his faith was a quiet but steady presence throughout his life.
Music was one of the great loves of his life. A lifelong musician, Mark played guitar and bass and sang in numerous bands throughout the years. Whether performing on stage or playing at home, music was woven into the fabric of who he was.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Marie Belcher (née Coyle), with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage — a testament to their deep love and enduring partnership. Together they built a beautiful family.
He was a proud and loving father to Catherine (Anthony) Jaeger, Mathew (Mia) Belcher, and Elizabeth (Austin) Sawyer.
Mark was a devoted grandfather to Ryan, Alex, Liam, Maria, Marika, Joe, Asher, and ELiza, who brought him immense pride and joy.
He is also survived by his siblings: Steven (Chris) Belcher, Michael (Cal) Belcher, Clare (Rick) Cortez, MaryAnn (Shawn) McMahon, and Regina Madden.
Mark will be remembered for his sharp mind, adventurous spirit, musical soul, and the lasting impression he made on all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his music and memory will live on in all who loved him.
