Marlene "Nana" Szymanski Obituary
Marlene” “Nana” Szymanski, 93, of Jumping Brook Lane, Whittier Park in the Town of Ulster, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
She was born in Los Angeles, CA before moving to this area.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley (Steve) Szymanski, Jr.; daughter, Christine Peterson; son-in-law, Rusty Peterson; and sister, Wava Petersen.
Among other things, “Nana” enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, music and dancing.
She is survived by granddaughter, Cherie Bruck; grandson, Rick Bruck; great-grandson, Alexander Bruck; Special friends and neighbors, Darlene and Bob Pellicane; Special friend, Harold Houghtaling; Special niece and nephew, Marie & Marty; along with several other nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to her Hospice team, Jennifer, Diane, Terry, Brandi and Janice and an Extra special thank you to her aide Annie.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston NY from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home followed by burial along side her husband in Montrepose Cemetery.
