Obituary of Anthony R. Fabbie
Anthony R. Fabbie, 90, formerly of Clifton Avenue, passed away Sunday Morning, February 25, 2018 at the HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus in Kingston, NY.
He was born in Kingston, and was one of 11 children born to the late Anthony and Christina (Fiore) Fabbie. He served his country in the US Navy during WW II then was an owner of Fabbie Brothers Service Station on Cornell Street. Tony loved to hunt with his German Shorthaired Pointer and would only take two shells for his two bird limit. He enjoyed planting his garden of tomatoes and eggplant. But most of all, he loved being with his grandchildren and sharing his life stories.
Tony’s wife, the former Helen Marino died April 19, 2011. Surviving are their children, Anthony Fabbie and his wife Margaret of Houston, TX, Christina Fabbie of Port Ewen, NY, Beatrice Pera and her husband Tom of Holly Springs, NC and Diana Mendonca and her husband Teofilo of Franklin, MA; sisters, Frances Polcastro of Sarasota, FL, Josephine Lostumbo of Phoenix, AZ and
Susan Mackey of Kingston; 10 Grandchildren, a Great Grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by brothers Frank, Joseph, Thomas and Peter Fabbie and sisters, Mary Amendola, Margaret Papillo and Theresa Landi.
Friends and relatives will be received at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00pm. Funeral procession will form 10:15am on Thursday at the funeral home thence proceed to St. Mary’s Church where at 11:00 am a Mass of Christian burial will be offered. Burial with military honors by Joyce Schirick VFW Post #1386 Color Guard to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Joyce Schirick VFW Post #1386 members are requested to meet at the funeral home, 6:30 pm on Wednesday, February 28th to conduct services for their departed comrade, Anthony R. Fabbie.
