Dale A. Van Valkenburgh, 59, of route 28A in West Shokan, NY passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Dale was a son of Anita (Douglas) Van Valkenburgh of West Hurley and the late Dale L. Van Valkenburgh. Dale is survived by his wife of 35 years, the former Edwina Gardner; a sister, Patricia Surak of Boiceville, NY; brothers, Jeff Van Valkenburgh and his wife Nancy of New Windsor, NY and Richard Van Valkenburgh of Shokan, NY. Also surviving are his Aunt/Godmother, Jackie Koenig; Uncles, Michael Douglas, Bob Douglas and his wife Shirley; Sisters-in-law and their husbands, Carol and Michael Apuzzo, Victoria and Richard Moore and Michelle and John Mixon. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral service and burial will be private.
