Ellen was born March 23, 1947 in Jersey City, NJ. She was a daughter of Emma and Theodore Phiipson and sister to Kathryn and Janice. All predeceased her. She married Donald J. Stapchuk on November 26, 1966. They were married for 43 + years. He predeceased her in 2010. She had several jobs and careers throughout her lifetime. She retired from Columbia Memorial Hospital. Her favorite and most important careen was being a mother to her daughter, Elizabeth, and son, Donald, Jr., as well as being a grandma to Sarah. Ellen loved to play bingo. Her favorite thing in the world was spending time with family and friends. He family meant everything to her. Ellen lived in Cairo, NY for many years. Ellen passed away, unexpectedly but peaefully, at HealthAllianec Hospital, Broadway Campus in Kingston, NY on August 4, 2019. She had her immediate family by her side. Ellen is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth; son, Donald, Jr.; granddaughter, Sarah, who was the light of her life; daughter-in-law, Christine Matheo; as well as many nieces, grand nieces, nephews, grand nephews, in-law relatives, cousins and many friends. A memorial service, honoring her life, will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Rte 23B and intersection 32, Cairo, NY at 11:00am.
