Obituary of Ernest G. Williams, Sr.

Kerhonkson – Ernest G. Williams Sr., 64, of Kerhonkson, NY, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020. He was born in Kingston, NY, on February 6th, 1956 to the late Raymond E. Williams Sr. and his wife Margaret. Ernest, “Ernie”, was a life-long resident of the Kerhonkson and Accord area. Ernie attended the Rondout Valley High School in Accord, NY and from there he became a firefighter at the Accord Fire House in Accord, NY. He worked for Bill Clark’s garage doing autobody repair and then opened his own mower repair shop out of his own home garage. He also worked for Agway in Accord and John Deer in High Falls. Ernie was passionate about cars and trucks, working on any type of motor. Whether is it was a fix or rebuild he enjoyed the challenge of working on motors. Ernie was a member of the Kerhoknson-Accord Rescue Squad for 26 years. He worked at the Rondout Valley School District for 23 years in the custodial/janitorial department, in which he recently retired from. He brought a smile to each and every one of his co-workers with his great sense of humor. He had many kids from the schools over the years that were very close to him and would spend their lunch breaks having heart to heart conversations together or telling jokes. Ernie had an infectious smile that warmed many hearts in his life. He always had a way of lightening up an intense moment and bringing laughter to a crowd. He loved his dogs Angel and Rosey, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Ernie is survived by his wife Kathleen, (Kathy) Williams (Donlin) of 21 years, a son, Ernest Williams Jr. of Accord, NY, his wife Krystal, and children Ernest III, Michael, Landon and Sienna, and a great-grandson Ernest IV, his daughter, Amanda Williams of Accord, NY, and her significant other Robert Vedder, her daughters Mia, Kylee and Bailey Rae, a step-son, Robert Libutti of Forked River, NJ and his wife Aimee and their children Kyle and Kendall, a step-daughter Amanda Campbell-Falzone of Smithfield, VA., her husband Steven and their children, Steven and soon to be born twin boys, and a step-son Andrew Campbell of Kerhonkson, NY. Ernest is also survived by his brother Martin (Marty) Williams of Accord, NY, several cousins, nieces and nephews. His sister, Loretta and brother Raymond are previously deceased. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY from 2-4 and 7-8:30pm. His funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Arlene Dawber at 8:30pm. Burial is scheduled to take place 10:30am on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the High Falls Cemetery. In the interest of public safety and in keeping with COVID-19 guidelines, social distancing and masks are required at all times and guests will be limited at the funeral home and cemetery. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, THE FAMILY ASKS ANY DONATIONS BE MADE TO THE KERHONKSON-ACCORD RESCUE SQUAD IN ERNIE'S MEMORY.
