Obituary of Arna Jo Schwark
Arna Jo Fischer Schwark, 51, of Ulster Park, passed away Monday, July 19, 2021, at home with family by her side. She was born at the Benedictine Hospital July 20, 1969, the day of the moon landing. She was one of three children born to Joanne Whipple Fischer of Ulster Park and the late Arnold F. Fischer.
She graduated from Kingston High School then went Ulster County Community College and was initiated into one of their sororities.
Arna Jo worked at Ulster Savings Bank for many years then retired from Ulster County Social Services after ten plus years. She had acquired many friends from both employments and still kept in touch with many of her fellow co-workers.
Over the years, Arna Jo had been a participant in several beauty pageants and always came away with a trophy or title. Her activities through the years seemed to revolve around sports. She loved boating, fishing and being involved where her boys were competing in sports and never missed one of their games. She loved being outside, hiking and camping and her fun time was taking Cody and Trevor on trips.
For many years, she was involved in the Head Start Program where she got pleasure out of teaching and loving those little children and they loved her back.
Just before COVID, she decided to do home schooling with her boy Trevie. Her one room was like a school room and it gave her such pleasure.
Arna Jo will be missed so much but her Dad and Grandparents are waiting with open arms for their Little Angel.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Scott Schwark; sons, Cody and Trevor Schwark; a sister, Joanne (Boomie) Tubbs of Esopus and their children, Megan Tubbs (away at school in Ashburn, VA) and Westcott Tubbs (away at school in Orlando, FL; a brother, Arnold G. (Karina) Fischer of Kingston and their children, Christian Fischer of Albany; Sabrina (Jason) Contrady of New Hampshire and their brand new son, James Boyd Contrady; her Dear Friend Lynn Pereira: aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, from 5:00–7:00 pm at the Henry J Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY. Funeral procession will form 9:15 am on Saturday, at the funeral home, then proceed to St. Mary’s Church where at 10:00 am a Mass of Christian Burial will be sung. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
