Obituary of Josephine Erck

Josephine Erck, 85, of Kingston, passed away at The Grand Rehabiliation and Nursing at River Valley, in Poughkeepie, on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Josephine was born in Woodstock, NY. She was one of ten children born to the late Virgil Vincent and Bridget Ellen (McSpirit) Bouck. Prior to retirement, she had been a congressional assistant to the late NYS Congressman Maurice Hinchey. She was active in the Human Rights Commission and was an advocate for children, the homeless, the needy and the poor. Surviving are her son, Peter Van Erck and his wife Helen of Sawkill; sisters, Irene Kahrs of Clifton Park and Alice Faurote of Port Ewen; many nieces and nephews also survive. Josephine was preceded in death by brothers, Franklin J., George, John S., Vincent L. and Lawrence F. Bouck and sisters, Elizabeth Smith and Dionia Perry. A Graveside service will be held 11:30 am on Friday (March 25, 2022) at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY.
