Obituary of Mary Gromoll

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Gromoll on September 21, 2022 at Ten Broeck Commons. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was the heart of our family and loved by all that knew her. She was a kind, loving and funny person. Mary was born on December 6, 1938 in Kingston, to the late Kenneth and Hazel (Buley) Sickler. She devoted her life to her family. She is survived by her husband of 66 years Philip Gromoll, daughters Debra Fassbender (John), Beverly Berardi (Michael), Susan Berardi (William), Cynthia Ham (Michael), grandchildren Dante Berardi (Amanda), Dana McNamara (Kevin), Philip Berardi (Kristina), Marya Berardi, Michelle Ham, Ryan Ham (Katie), great grandchildren, Mariella and Clark Mc Namara, Siena and Julie Berardi, Claire Berardi, and Jett Ham. Also surviving is her brother Kenneth Sickler and wife Elaine, brother-in law Roger Temple and sister-in laws Charlotte White, Ruth Dahl, Elizabeth Tedrow and Lynn Sickler as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her parents as well as sister Ruth Temple and brother Donald Sickler. No ones eyes shined so bright with love as our Mom. She will always be a part of us and we will always be a part of her. Although our days will be empty without her, we know she will be walking beside us. We will love and miss you everyday Mom. At Mary’s request, no services will be held. “I'd like the memory of me to be happy.” The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Ten Broeck Commons – Catskill Unit - for the exceptional care, kindness and compassion to our Mom.
