Obituary of Joseph J. Bodie

Joseph J. Bodie, 68, a lifelong resident of Kingston, NY, passed away, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in Kingston, at the Mary’s Avenue Campus of HealthAlliance Hospital. After serving his Country in the U.S. Marine Corps., he enjoyed being a self-employed carpenter. He was one of seven children born to Ernest C. and Beatrice (Williams) Bodie. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by four sisters, Martha, Rose and Caroline Bodie and Beatrice May and a brother, Ernie Bodie, Jr. Survivors include his children, Jamie Bodie and Annerose, Shawn Bodie and Jodi and Jeremy Bodie-Bromberg and Shane; a brother, John Bodie and Tracy; grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor Bodie; many nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no visitation. Cremation with private inurnment at the Ulster County Veterans Cemetery in New Paltz, NY took place under the direction of the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY. If desired, memorial contributions in Joe’s name may be made to the Ulster County SPCA, 20 Wiedy Drive, Kingston, NY 12401.
