Obituary of Elsie M. Leirey

Elsie M. Leirey, 78, of Second Avenue passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Kingston, June 12, 1937 to the late Joseph and Isabel (Bradley) Netherwood. She worked at IBM in Kingston, the YMCA and was a lunch monitor at Kennedy School. She was a longtime member of St. Peter's Parish. Elsie is survived by her sons, Joseph W. Leirey and his wife Jean of Lake Katrine, John P. Leirey and his wife Laurie of Clifton Park and James E. Leirey of Albany; granddaughters, Katherine, Erin, Amy, Sarah, Jessica and Rebecca Leirey; nieces and nephews. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Leirey, Jr.; a son, Frank Allen Leirey; siblings, Vincent and Joseph Netherwood, Rose Mary Christian, Gertrude Henry and Isabel Fitzpatrick. Friends and relatives will be received 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY. Funeral procession will form 10:15 am Saturday at the funeral home thence proceed to St. Peter's Church where at 11:00 am a Mass of Christian Burial will be sung. Burial to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Elsie's name to Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, 374 Violet Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 NOTE - Mass was changed TO 11:00 am
