Obituary of Dionia Catherine Perry

Dionia Catherine Bouck Perry (Diane) at 84 years, passed away peacefully into the arms of God on December 20th, 2015 at Thompson House Residence in Rhinebeck, NY. Dionia was born on May 24th, 1931 in West Hurley, NY, the eldest daughter of the late Vincent Virgil and Bridget Ellen Bouck. As a young girl, Dionia enjoyed idyllic days on the family homestead. She loved and tended to her horse, Madeline. She held precious memories of her grandparents, Joseph and Catherine McSpirit, her aunt Alice Krom and her little brothers and sisters. She was devoted to our Blessed Mother from a young age. As a young lady her sense of style lead her to study cosmetology at the Newburgh Beauty Academy. In 1949 she married the love of her life, Arthur J. Perry, who predeceased her in 2012. Together they owned and operated Perry Motors for 60 years. Together they raised their 10 children. A devoted Mother, her family was her proudest achievement. As her family grew, she designed and oversaw the construction of a second story on her beloved home, 60 South. An astute business woman, her other endeavors included her used furniture business and real estate. She loved her vacation homes in Vermont and Florida and her adventurous camping trips on the Battenkill with her children and grandchildren. Dionia was a devout Catholic and overcame many struggles through her deep faith. A faith that she imparted onto her children.
