John C. “Papa John” Buddenhagen, 65, formerly of Kingston NY died suddenly Thursday, January 21, 2016 at his home in Red Hook.
Born November 4, 1950, he was the son of the late Clarence H. and Ethel J.(Van Buren) Buddenhagen.
Prior to retirement John was an insurance agent and owner at Pardee’s Agency in Kingston. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed movies.
John is survived by a son, Erik J. Buddenhagen (Ashley Heady) of Shokan, NY; a daughter, Julia L. Mezzacappa (Tony) of Catskill, NY; beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Henry and Grace Mezzacappa, Rachel Buddenhagen, MacKenzie Heady and Xavier Buddenhagen; his best friend Stephen Mezzacappa.
Friends may call Monday 5 – 7 pm at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY. John’s funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 pm by Deacon Cathy Boyce of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the Mental Health Association in Ulster, PO Box 2304, Kingston, NY 12402 would be appreciated
