Obituary of Leanne F. Warren

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Leanne Fister Warren, 78, of Hurley NY on April 3, 2016. Leanne was born on Feb. 28, 1938 in Kingston, NY. She graduated from Judson Private School in Scotsdale, AZ. She met her husband Frank when he was home on a visit from Fort Dix while she was staying with his brother John and wife Audria caring for their young son Richard. They were married Aug. 16, 1958 at the Old Dutch Church in Kingston. As a stay-at-home mom while her daughters were young she was a Girl Scout leader, a Hurley Rec Swim Team organizer and was active in the YMCA and AAU swim teams as well as the Hurley softball league. She was a volunteer with the Benedictine Hospital Services, a member of the Hurley Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and a Member of the Hurley Reformed Church. She later worked for the Town of Hurley as the Justice Court Clerk from 1984 - 2006. She was an avid reader and enjoyed creating beautiful knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and cross stitch works. Leanne will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend of 57 years, Frank Edward Warren, daughters Leslie Warren Melendez (Jose) of Lithia, FL and Lisa Strader (Mark) of Bedford, NH, grandsons Kyle and Jacob Strader and Brandon Melendez, nephew Richard Warren of Hudson, NY, nieces Rebecca Debrosky (Dennis) of Kerhonkson, NY and Carol Vigeant of Coventry, RI, great nieces Sara and Courtney Debrosky, and great nephews Tyler, Shaun, and Nathaniel Vigeant. She was pre deceased by her parents Ruth and Herbert Fister, brother-in-law John Warren and his wife Audria. A memorial service honoring Leanne will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Hurley Reformed Church, Main Street, Hurley, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hurley Rescue Squad. Donations can be sent to Hurley Fire Department, PO Box 181, Hurley, NY 12443. In memo or note please specify "the Rescue Squad".
