Obituary of Louis R. Pliego

Louis R. Pliego, 70, of Stephan Street, Kingston, NY passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lake Katrine, NY. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, October 17, 1944, to the late Louis B. and Carmela (Lopez) Pliego. In addition to his parents, Lou was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Pliego. Lou served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. In 2013, after 48 years of employment, he retired from the Kingston Hospital as a dietary aide. At one time, Lou and he and his wife Mary, owned a catering business. Lou loved to dance and take trips to Las Vegas. He also enjoyed being a DJ playing 50's-60's and 70's music, gardening, bowling and anything to do with Eqyptian culture. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the White Eagle Benevolent Society. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Mary (Sember) Pliego, who he married June 26, 1971 ; a daughter, Jillian Lind; son-in-law, Jeremy Lind; grandchildren, Donovan and Dylan Lind; dear friend, Wes Hayes of Ulster Park, NY.; his extended Kingston hospital family, his White Eagle family and his beloved cat, Diana. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY. Members of the White Eagle Benevolent Society and its Ladies Auxiliary will meet 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. **************************************************************************************************************** A Memorial Mass will be sung 10:00 am on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Immaculate Conception Church.
