Obituary of Marion R. Smith

Marion R. Smith, passed peacefully on June 7, 2017. She was 94 years old.

Marion was born January 18, 1923, in the City of Kingston.  She was the daughter of the late Otto and Mille Smith.

Marion was a loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend.  She is survived by her sister-in-law, Berenice Smith, along with several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very devoted friend, Pat Augstein, who was always there for her in her time of need.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Edward Smith, Helen Wolff, Robert Smith and Gerald A. Smith.

Marion worked at the New York Telephone Company for 37 years before retiring in 1983.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Ten Broeck Commons for their devoted care to her and keeping her comfortable during a difficult time.

The family with receive friends and relatives Friday, June 16, 2017, 5 to 8 p.m at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY. The procession will form 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the funeral home, then proceed to St. Mary’s Church, where at 11:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Marion's name to the American Cancer Society, 95 Schwenk Drive, Kingston, NY 12401.
