Obituary of Barbara E. Riggins

Barbara E. (Donahue) Riggins, 74, of Kingston, NY, passed away January 27th, 2019 at home. Born in Kingston, NY, she was a daughter of Thomas and Aileen Albright Donahue. Barbara was married to the late Thomas K. Riggins. Barbara was a devoted and loving caretaker to many throughout her lifetime. A beloved mother, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. Her favorite and most cherished role was being a grandmother to her two granddaughters. She spent every moment she could with her granddaughters and enjoyed watching them grow. Barbara loved to be a part of every moment of their lives. Barbara enjoyed baking her famous chocolate chip cookies, train rides to New York City, doing puzzles, day trips to the casino with her cousin Shirley, watching boats and trains from her porch, and decorating for Christmas. Barbara is survived by her daughter Nicole Pagano and husband Carmelo of Palenville, a son Thomas K. Riggins Jr. of New York City, and her loving dog Monique. Granddaughters; Madison Evangeline Pagano and Olivia Lucianna Pagano. A brother James J. Donahue of Mt. Marion. She was previously deceased by her sister Aileen Slater and her brothers Thomas and Fred Donahue. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

 

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY between 5:00 & 8:00 pm followed by a service of remembrance at 8:00 pm. Burial will take place in Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery at a later date.

 

In keeping with what Barbara would have wanted, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers (in honor of Barbara's Great Niece, Milena Pagano, who survives) donations be made in Barbara's memory to  www.cycleforsurvival.org/donate for cancer resarch led by Memorial Sloan Kettering.
