Obituary of Maryelizabeth Polacco
Maryelizabeth Polacco, affectionately known as, Maryliz, passed away on July 23, 2024, in her hometown of Kingston, New York, at the tender age of 37. Born to James M. (Jimmy) and Mary Hamilton Polacco on July 11, 1987, in Kingston. Maryelizabeth was a shining light in her community.
Maryelizabeth devoted her heart to education and students in general. She acquired two master’s degrees, one in Special Education and the other in Administration. She recently completed a certification in ENL and was 12 credits away from completing her Doctorate in Education. Maryliz was a caring and dedicated Special Education Teacher at J.W. Bailey School in Kingston. She absolutely loved her 7th Graders (Her “kids”). She was currently a Summer School Administrator for the Kingston City School District. Maryelizabeth also worked for the past 23 summers for the Kingston Recreation Department at the Andretta Pool with the Aquatic’s Programs.
Maryelizabeth dedicated her “free time” to volunteering at the Mentor Me of Ulster County. She was a current member and past President of Jr League of Kingston and a member of the Ladies Society of the Santa Maria. Her passions included reading, traveling, concerts, going to plays and musicals, and especially her many adventures with her friends. She was a huge Disney fanatic. She was looking forward to an upcoming cruise with her sister, Katie. Maryelizabeth’s bright smile, kind heart, and her innate ability to illuminate any room were her defining traits.
Maryelizabeth is survived by her father Jimmy Polacco of Kingston, sister, Katelyn Polacco of Kingston and her fur sibling, Rocco. Her Godparents, Patricia (Patty) Herrmann of Paramus, New Jersey and CJ Polacco III of Kingston, New York. She is survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends that became family.
Maryelizabeth was met with open arms by her mom, Mary Hamilton Polacco. Her Paternal Grandparents, Genevieve and Charles Polacco Sr. and Maternal Grandparents, Mary and William Hamilton
Celebration of life will take place on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 3:00pm-7:00pm. A tribute to Maryliz will immediately follow at 7:00pm at Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, NY

Maryelizabeth will be remembered as a bright, kind-hearted individual who made a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her memory will be cherished forever by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
