Rose C. Woods passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at her First Avenue home.
She was born in Kingston, January 15, 1926, a daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Szustecka) Gregory.
Rose was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and was vice-president of its Rosary Society. She was retired from the Kingston Hospital as a registered nurse and at age 90 was still active in volunteer work at the hospital.
Survivors include a daughter, Christine Landers and her husband Josiah of Montgomery, NY; a daughter-in-law, Stephanie Berglund of San Rafael, CA; Grandchildren, Paula Benyei of Yonkers, NY and Istvan Benyei of Montgomery, NY; a sister, Stella Schrowang of Kingston, NY and brothers, Clarence Gregory of Wappingers Falls, NY and Joseph Gregory, Jr. of Kingston, NY; several nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Joseph P. Woods; a daughter, Victoria R. Woods; a son, Joseph P. Woods, Jr.; sisters, Jane Scott, Theresa Gregory and Virginia Cadden and a brother George Gregory.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung 11:00 am on Wednesday (December 14th) at the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial to follow alongside her husband in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in Rose's name to the John A. Coleman Catholic High School Scholarship Fund or the Immaculate Conception Church.
